Washington State Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting is about a month away, but frugal attendees can save some money by registering prior to Saturday, October 15th.

Business Manager Rick Gastelum said they want to energize their members to become good leaders.

“Give them some ideas on how they can be seen and heard in today’s modern age of social media, Twitter, web presence. There’s a lot of push of farm to table.”

If people in urban areas can come out to the farm and meet the growers, Gastelum believes they will see that farmers are normal people but also a major part of the economy.

Gastelum said it’s also important to bring producers together to inform the Bureau’s policies as well as network.

“We have representatives from all over the state and some of them may take on membership drives or special projects that they work on in their communities and so this is a time for them to be able to share those ideas with each other.”

The meetings kick off Tuesday November 15th and will feature Comedian Mark Mayfield, Leadership Expert Phil Van Hooser and much more.
