The Washington State Department of Natural Resources is offering a 3,000 acre piece of farm land for lease in the Paterson area of Horse Heaven Hills.

The lease structure will include the winning bidder constructing a supply system to deliver water to the land which has the ability to tap into 3.9 acre feet of non-interruptible Columbia River water per acre.

Bids are due April 6th and DNR will look at the applicant’s ability to perfect the agency’s water rights, financial capabilities, plus environmental considerations, such as whether the applicant intends to grow organic crops or preserve areas of shrub-steppe as wildlife habitat.

You can see video of the land and find out more about the leasing opportunity at Paterson2017.com.
