2017 for many across the U.S. was a notable year for natural disasters, from significant wildfires were in the west to an active hurricane season.  Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue.

"Last year, our nation experienced some of the most significant disasters that we've seen in decades, some back-to-back, at the most critical times of the production year."

Earlier this week, Perdue announced eligibility details for the USDA's new 2017 Wildfires and Hurricanes Indemnity Program.  The FSA is set to deploy over $2.3 billion in funding from the Omnibus Funding Bill to producers impacted in specific states by hurricanes and wildfires.  Producers can learn more about WHIP and potential eligibility through their local FSA offices, or on-line.

Visit to learn more or to apply, visit FSA’s Website.  Sign up for WHIP is set to begin by no later than July 16th.
