You could be paying more for your fuel costs this week, it really depends on what you drive.

According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of diesel held steady at $2.50, Washington’s average decreased one cent to $2.84, while Oregon’s average increased one cent per gallon to $2.66.

Patrick DeHaan is with GasBuddy.com.

“We’re kind of moving away from diesel’s peak consumption, and we’re a head of the agriculture season, so diesel prices are coming down, gas prices are starting to go up across the state.”

DeHaan says the oil inventory we saw just a few weeks ago has disappeared, and oil prices have started to moved higher, from $47 per barrel just three weeks ago, to now over $50 per barrel.

DeHaan says it’s simple supply and demand.

[PATRICK – 2]

“Just in the last week, we saw some data from the Energy Information Administration that pointed out that perhaps the markets are becoming more balanced.  Crude oil inventories increase ever so slightly last week, which was ever so slightly below expectations.”

Here are some of the lowest prices we could find across the Inland Northwest:

  • $2.65 a gallon in Pasco
  • $2.66 a gallon in Wenatchee
  • $2.56 a gallon in in Pendleton
  • $2.60 a gallon in Quincy
  • $2.75 a gallon in Walla Walla
  • $2.69 a gallon in Yakima
  • $2.65 a gallon in Moses Lake
