Oil prices continue to march higher following the coronavirus crash earlier this year. GasBuddy’s Patrick DeHaan said West Texas Crude was trading around $40 per barrel in early Monday action, but shed some of those gains as the day continued. DeHaan said drivers have started to return to the roadways, pushing gas and oil prices higher. But he noted, volume is nowhere near an average summer drive season.

DeHaan added while gasoline and oil prices have inched higher, the price for diesel has lagged behind.

“Inventories of diesel have surged in recent weeks, because of the slowdown in the economy.  In fact, last week, the Energy Information Administration said distillate inventories which include diesel, increased by ten million barrels in the last week, and are now 35% above a year ago.  That compares to gasoline inventories that are up just 10% from last year.”

DeHaan added prices have inched higher, nationwide.

What about local diesel prices? Here are some of the lowest diesel prices we could find across the Inland Northwest:

  • $2.32 a gallon in the Tri-Cities
