Last month, Darigold announced plans to expand its global customer service and growth in international markets.  To do that, Darigold has opened office in Mexico City, Singapore and Shanghai and expects to open additional offices in the coming years.

Darigold Senior Vice President, Leader of Ingredients Division Jonathan Spurway said they currently serve roughly 20 countries.  That figure will double because of this expansion effort.  He noted Darigold’s aim is to grow global presence will translate into additional investments in the companies capabilities.

“Which ultimately that translates to more need for more milk, more need for bigger supply parts, and ultimately that is an investment in not only our farmers, but also the total business to grow this region’s capabilities in servicing world dairy demand.”

Spurway noted the current trade war with China, and ongoing NAFTA discussion were not factors when looking at this first round of expansion.

“This long-term investment will pay off over time, I would also sit there and note China and Mexico are not the only countries we are looking at we have a substantial base of countries throughout Southeast Asia and Latin America that we continue to invest in, and continue to do trade with.”

Darigold will maintain its headquarters in Seattle, but hire employees overseas to support the expansion effort.
