
Dairy Farmers of Washington Scholarship Recipients Named
The Dairy Farmers of Washington announced the winners of two $1,000 scholarships for students going to college who have been involved 4-H or FFA dairy programs.
Travis Lenssen from Lynden is going to WSU to pursue a degree in animal science and has spent hours working with a local vet.
Loryn Casey from Monroe will be off to Oregon State University where she plans to study biohealth and get a doctorate. She grew up on a dairy farm and cites her relationship with her first dairy cow as a highlight in her life.
CEO Scott Kinney said 4-H and FFA were critical in his development and will continue to be for the agriculture industry noting, “The values of these two organizations run parallel with the heart and soul of our dairy community.”
