Wednesday is the first day of March.  Will it come in like a lion or a lamb?  Well, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Dennis Hull, either way, it’s going to come in identical to the last three months, cooler and wetter than normal.

“It looks like certainly the first ten days of March and on the cool and unsettled side, and then it looks like it’s going to try to recover to near normal for maybe the latter half of the month anyway.”

Hull told the Washington Ag Network Inland Northwest farmers can take heart, because the long range forecast into May is encouraging.

“Does have temperatures averaging out closer to normal, and precipitation not as heavy as compared to normal.  SO, we’re looking at a more normal spring, at least more normal than what we saw this past winter anyway.”

Another encouraging sign, according to Hull, snow levels around the area should move up to 2500’ in the coming days.  The first day of spring is March 20th.
