President Trump announced at the G-20 summit over the weekend in Japan that trade talks have resumed between the U.S. and China.  While the Administration expressed satisfaction that talks had resumed, it does not appear that the two sides are any closer than they were when talks broke down in May.  With talks resuming the Administration has decided to hold off on another round of tariffs against Chinese products bound for the U.S.  However, the White House says concerns remain over several issues, intellectual property protections and changes to Chinese law.

Late last week, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said a U.S./China trade deal was 90% complete, but did not indicate what issues remained to be addressed.
