Case IH Showcases Precision Technology
Case IH recently launched some new precision tech offerings to help improve the farmer experience, from buying tech to managing fleets.
“Back in August, we released FieldOps, which allows customers to have a new platform to manage their fleet and their agronomic data," said Kendal Quandahl, precision tech segment lead at Case IH. "So, it's allowing a comprehensive real-time view of what's going on across the entire fleet. It also brings the mobile experience, so what they experience on their phone, and the web-based, what they experience on their desktop or their laptop, brings that experience together, so it's much more cohesive. It feels like the same system when they're operating between the two, making it a farmer-friendly solution. We've also built in some new technology packages for our equipment. We wanted to focus on making technology easy to order. So we kind of made two easy-pick packages. We've got a core, or probably what most of our producers are going to default to. It's going to have everything that you need to get up and going. But we're also going to offer an advanced package, so if they're looking for that next level, they're going to have that option to do that directly from the factory.
“We know that a producer's time is money, so making that technology easy to use is priority number one," Quandahl continued. "So, when we were looking at FieldOps, one of our four principles involved in that was making sure that we brought forward a product that we had farmer input on, making sure that they have the ability to let the most important pieces for their operation rise to the top in that kind of experience was really important as we brought that forward.”
Quandahl said the Connectivity included initiative will benefit farmers who purchase their machines from Case IH.
“What is Connectivity Included? So, that's targeted to remove the extra subscription fees from our technology for our qualifying equipment. Starting with equipment built on October 1, there will be no subscription costs for anything that has to do with Connectivity and FieldOps. So, that is there to make sure that the first owner all the way through your second, third, and fourth owner of that piece of equipment has access to technology without having to try and figure out what subscriptions they need or anything like that. That's going to give them access to that agronomic data transfer as well as machine data transfer. So, uploading all that information into field apps and putting it all in one spot, it's critical to bring all of that together.”
FieldOps is, as Quandahl put it, precision technology that’s easy to use but also helps farmers be more efficient and productive.
“The cool thing that I see with FieldOps is the ability to easily access what you're looking for," she said. "As a producer, we know that, at the end of the day, regardless of where you farm or what you farm, you have a lot of similar goals as farmers across North America, but you may accomplish your tasks a little bit differently. So, being able to personalize that experience by seeing the exact machine parameter that's important to you might be different than what's important to your neighbor, so we've built in those customizable options. A customer has access to exactly what they need even if they're not in the field.”
