Maria Cantwell said there are many things D.C. can do to promote the agriculture industry in the Evergreen state.  During a recent trip to Central Washington, Cantwell said it’s important to continue investing in research at all extension programs statewide, allowing Washington farmers to continue to grow the best products.  Cantwell added it’s important the U.S. invest in the Market Assess Program, (MAP) better known.

“Which allows us to market our products in overseas markets to help get established.  And with these growing economies around the globe, that’s what we need to do, get market assess.”

Cantwell added trade remains a priority for Washington ag and non-ag economy.  To learn more about the MAP program, visit the USDA's Website.
