If you’re in the market for a horse trailer, the Better Business Bureau has a warning.  DKS Trailers of Roseburg, OR, was recently given an F rating.  Despite claiming to sell custom horse trailers across North America, the BBB says the company cannot be found at their given address in Roseburg.  On top of that DKS is not registered with the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office.

Kirstin Davis with the BBB told the Washington Ag Network they’ve seen an increase in the number of companies popping up on-line, claiming to have goods and services, and once they get your personal information, they disappear.

“So, they may be giving them a down payment via a credit card, so now they have credit card information, so they think they’ve made a deposit to have this item delivered, and then the next thing that you know, nothing ever shows up, and there’s no way to contact that company again.”

Davis said it’s also important for consumers to be aware of deals that seem too-good-to-be-true; because often they are.  To learn more, or to report a scam, visit the BBB's Scam Tracker Website.
