Active Weather Expected As We Welcome In Fall

Sunday is the first day of fall, but the weather over the past couple of days has felt very fall like across the region, with cloudy skies and rain showers.  Marilyn Lohmann with the National Weather Service said this active weather pattern has been good news for soil moisture conditions as we transition.

“But the last couple of weeks with the cooler temperatures and these couple rounds of rain moving through has totally boosted a lot of the soil moisture across the region.  I know it hasn’t been good for people harvesting, hay cutting and stuff, but it’s really helped.  I think we’ll see a really good recovery in a lot of the dryland pasture in the next couple of weeks from this moisture.”

Lohmann added this active weather pattern is expected to continue over the next couple of weeks.  She added temperatures are expected to be normal, or slightly warmer than normal in the coming weeks.
