The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a reward for information regarding the recent illegal killing of a gray wolf in Morrow County.  On November 8th, a radio-collared male gray wolf, known as OR 159, was found dead on private land twenty miles south of Heppner.  Morrow County is located west of Highway 395, where gray wolves are listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act.  A reward of $10,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest, a criminal conviction, or civil penalty assessment.

 

Anyone with information on this illegal killing as asked to contact the Oregon State Police, which is helping USFW in the investigation.  Tips or information can be reported by calling OSP at (503) 682-6131, or (800) 452-7888.  You can also call *OSP (*677) on a cell phone, or email TIP@osp.oregon.gov.
