Washington State University is reminding growers now is the time to manage Little Cherry disease.  School officials say the time after harvest is when growers should sample for infected trees and remove trees that test positive.  Removal of infected trees is paramount to slowing down the spread of the pathogen.

WSU added Western X is a problem across North America, and across Washington, and now growers are seeing epidemic levels in the Columbia basin.  Most of the reporting comes from Yakima, Benton, and Franklin counties, as well as northern Oregon around the Hood River area.
