Women in Agribusiness Focused On Growing Community
Women in Agribusiness, an organization dedicated to growing a professional community of women throughout the agribusiness sector, focused on helping women learn from one another, develop their careers, and build beneficial relationships through regular events and networking to grow the sector.
“Across the country, from the farm to the retail shelf, everybody in between and everyone who supports the industry," said Janet Fisher, assistant director of Women in Agribusiness. "Our culminating event every year is the annual summit, where we have three days of content focused on the ag economy and a ton of networking opportunities for about eleven hundred women.”
So, what’s the focus of the group? What are the goals of Women in Agribusiness?
“The mission is to highlight women in agribusiness, empower them, and showcase what women in agribusiness are contributing because it's not just a matter of getting more women into agribusiness, it's showing that we're here. We're already here. We've got the experts, we've got the expertise, we've got the years of experience, and we showcase that on our stage. We showcase that at our events in our audience. That's what we aim to do.”
