Is President Trump going to abandoned NAFTA?  That topic was addressed head on during the recent National Agriculture Bankers Conference in Milwaukee, WI.  The American Farm Bureau’s senior director of Congressional relations Mary Kay Thatcher said it really could go either way.

“You see everybody in agriculture that is really on the edge of their seats as well as other industries about what will President Trump do, because he has made some comments and you know generally speaking when he made comments in the campaign, he’s lived up to those promises.  Sometimes we did think he would but you know, he has.”

Thatcher added the AFBF is going their very best to tell the President how important NAFTA is to agriculture.

“To remind him who elected him, and to show him som studies that show this is really, really critical but, the President has his own mind, so I think it’s probably a 50/50 chance of that happening."
