The Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers is no more, the group is now Washington Winegrowers.

Board Chair Todd Newhouse says they wanted to more accurately represent their mission and even a simple name change can make a difference.

"It will bring wineries and growers together even more and when you have that kind of collaboration I think the voice becomes bigger and it resonates throughout the country and maybe even the world if that's what it takes."

The group even has a new website at their web address WAwinegrowers.org.

Newhouse unveiled the name during the first day of the Washington Winegrowers annual conference Tuesday.

"I think people see why we did it and they agree with how we went about doing it and the name, I've gotten a lot of positive feedback on the name for those few who are aware of it."

The annual convention continues through Thursday at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick.
