Waters Reacts To Rising Star Award
Earlier this year, Washington State University’s Dr. Tim Waters was honored by the Pasco Chamber of Commerce's Ag Hall of Fame with the Rising Star Award. Waters noted he appreciates how embraced he was by the industry, and the individuals who were willing to teach him.
“I didn't grow up in agriculture. I grew up around agriculture, grew up locally and didn't grow up in agriculture, and it wasn't really until Graduate School that I had a good idea of what I wanted to do. And coming into this job, I didn't have a ton of experience growing crops and really even being in crops and really fortunate that the industry kind of trained me up to do this job. So that's one thing I've really learned is that. You know, if you're willing to work hard and take advice from others and ask a lot of questions, you can learn.”
Waters said while the industry is going through a bit of a rough patch right now, he’s very optimistic about the future of Agriculture, regionally and nationally.
