Washington Total Farm Production Expenditures Drop
According to NASS, total farm production expenditures fell in Washington last year. 2019 expenditures are estimated at $7.09 billion, down 13% from 2018’s $8.19 billion. The four largest expenditures in Washington accounted for 65% of total expenditures last year. And those expenditures included: Labor, 31%; Farm Services, 19%; Feed, 9%; Ag Chemicals, 6%.
In 2019, average total farm expenditure per farm in Washington was $199,017 down from the previous year average of $229,412. This is higher than the United States farm expenditure average per farm, which was $177,564 in 2019, up 1% year over year.
NASS does not compile similar numbers for Idaho or Oregon.
