August is Washington State Wine month.  And to celebrate, the Washington State Wine Commission has rolled out a bold, new campaign.

Washington, the new Epicenter of Wine.

“We have so many accolades to back it up, and according to Wine Spectator data," said Heather Bradshaw with the Wine Commission.  "Washington state has had the highest percentage of 90 point plus wines, when compared to California, France, Italy, and other leading wine regions.”

Bradshaw said that trend is not new, Washington has had a higher percentage of 90 plus point wines than other top wine producing areas for the last eight years.  She added during the month, they will work on promoting Washington wine across the Northwest.

“So, everything we’re doing right now, or everything we’re trying to do, are targeting the Pacific Northwest, and we’d like to encourage the support of local wineries, and local wine growers, and really focus on the home market.”
