On Monday, April 7th, the Washington State Department of Agriculture Food Assistance program announced that applications for the 5th round of Resiliency Grants are now open.  These grants are available to eligible hunger relief organizations, including those not currently participating in FA core programs, to help address critical needs in hunger relief across Washington.  Applications are due May 22nd, 2025.

WSDA’s priorities for these grants include:

  • Providing access to flexible funding to hunger relief organizations, including tribes and tribal organizations, to support current and vital organizational needs.
  • Supporting hunger relief organizations in ways that they determine are best for their community.
  • Supporting access to nutritious food, including underserved communities.
  • Ensuring funding is distributed across the entire state.

The Department of Ag said the grant objectives include:

  • Collaboration amongst organizations to make significant improvements to the hunger relief network in their area.
  • Increasing client access to food and reducing client barriers.
  • Responding to organizational and community need.

The Resiliency Grants Program is funded by General Fund State.  The 2025–2027 budget will determine the final funding level of this grant and should be available in April 2025. Visit the WSDA FA website for eligibility requirements, program overview, and application link.
