Outside of the occasional Isolated mountain rain shower, the weather forecast is calling for a stable weather pattern developing across the western U.S. for the next couple of day.

“We are looking at quiet weather over the next five to seven days," USDA meteorologist Brad Rippey.  "And in fact, for areas west of the Rockies and south of the Canadian border, we're looking at mostly dry weather for the remainder of the week right on in through the weekend. And that will be accompanied by mostly above normal temperatures.”

Rippey noted biggest concern, currently, with these warming temperatures is the increased irrigation demand.

“And then as we move into the desert Southwest, that is the one area of the country that we're expecting triple digit heat over the next several days," Rippey noted.  "But for the most part, the temperatures are not going to be excessively hot. We are going to be seeing temperatures occasionally topping 90 in some of the valley sites of the West, and we'll see some 90 degree heat also starting to develop across the plains and on into the eastern and mid-Atlantic states over the next several days.”
