The Washington Apple Education Foundation will be holding a forum on adult programs for English as Second Language educators Tuesday, March 21st at Central Washington University.

Executive Director Jennifer Witherbee said the event will feature Nadya Bush as a speaker for the first half, and the second half will be roundtable-like discussion on strategies, etc.

“One of the ways that we can help provide value in our community is to bring together English as a Second Language provider so they could have a chance to share some of their great ideas and practices with each other.”

The forum is open to anyone who works with non-English speakers, or those who want to provide ESL instruction.

Witherbee said they’ve been working with groups for several years now in the Farmworker Education Program and they heard many great stories, but also many challenges.

“So we thought if we could just get people in the same room together working and sharing ideas, they can help make each other’s programs stonger.”

Registration is required for the event, and to do so contact the WAEF office. For more information on the event, visit WAEF's grant page.
