Organizations helping farmworkers and Ag workers, as well as their families attain academic success through ESL programs are encouraged to apply for grants to through the Washington Apple Education Foundation.  WAEF said the grant funding is open to community groups, religious institutions as well as public and private schools that help those where English is a second Language.  Grant applications must be submitted by June 1st.

 

Grants typically range in size from $2,000-5,000.  In 2018, a total of $44,000 was awarded.

  • Friends of the Ellensburg Public Library
  • La Casa Hogar (Yakima)
  • Wenatchee First United Methodist Church,
  • Hand in Hand Immigration (Wenatchee),
  • Nuestra Casa (Sunnyside),
  • Living Stone Church (Chelan)
  • Bethel Church (Prosser)
  • Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (Toppenish)
