A lot of attention is being paid to an expected meeting between the presidents of the U.S. and China at the G-20 Summit in Argentina later this month.  And while Chief Agricultural Negotiator at the U.S. Trade Representative’s Office Gregg Doud said while there needs to be conversations about ag trade issues; "Yet we did sell China some $20 Billion worth of agricultural products, we have got a lot of work in that relationship to get it where it needs to be."

Dowd believes that will not formally occur until other high-profile, non-ag trade issues are discussed and resolved by both nations first.

"My hope is that leads to another conversation, that leads to another conversation and that we can begin to make some progress here. To sit down and talk, these two economies, these two countries' intellectual property, force technology transfer regimes that allow for China to play by the rules,” Doud continued.
