USFS Accepting Applications For Wood Innovation, Wood Energy Innovation grants
The U.S. Forest Service is currently accepting funding applications for innovation related programs. The USFS' Kevin Naranjo says one program has been around for a while, and has become very popular.
"Wood innovations grants really opened up in 2015 but that program itself has been around a little longer. It's designed to be able to promote and ideally support new opportunities or existing opportunities for wood products or wood energy markets."
Naranjo's Forest Service colleague, Julie Tucker, added a 2018 Farm Bill Program focuses on projects centered on community wood energy and wood innovation.
"It will pay for capital costs specifically for shuttle ready projects and also to build innovative wood product facilities."
Each program has different application dates for 2021 grants:
