Good news for American wheat growers, when taking a look at the most recent USDA reports.

"Improving wheat production in the U.S., declining wheat production in other parts of the globe, contributing to strength in terms of price," USDA Chief Economist Rob Johannson.

The second USDA survey of winter wheat shows a little bigger crop coming on than in the first survey, in fact 1% bigger or 1.2 billion bushels, 6% below a year ago.  But it will be good to have a little more than expected to sell for a variety of reasons.

"Globally, a lot of our trading partners are seeing some difficult conditions."

Especially Russia.  For this new marketing year that's just begun, the USDA putting the new Russian crop at 68.5 million tons, down 3.5 million from what had been forecast.
