USDA Holding Meetings on Mandatory Livestock Reporting
Mandatory livestock price reporting will be in its current form until 2020, but the USDA is planning some spring meetings on how the process can be improved.
Mike Lynch with USDA's Marketing Service said they will hear from many in the meat industry.
“To gather their feedback on ways to improve livestock mandatory reporting to keep it relevant with the way livestock and meat products are being currently marketed.”
The focus is to get some sort of agreement with the livestock industry as opposed to a variety of viewpoints and little consensus.
