USDA Collecting Census Of Horticulture Information
The USDA’s latest Census of Agriculture subsurvey focuses on the area of horticulture specialties.
“We're talking about floriculture, horticulture, nursery type crops, sod, food crops grown under glass," said NASS' Lance Honig. "That’s kind of the space that that we’re really talking about here.”
Eligible producers, he pointed out, have until February 14th to return their completed survey, either by mail or online.
“Once we see where we're at at that point, we'll determine whether or not we need to do any additional follow on to fill in some gaps because the overall goal is to have a product published in December of this year. So, it's a reasonably quick turn around considering how large and how in depth this data collection effort is.”
