The Umatilla County Fair is the third largest fair in Oregon with around 80-90,000 visitors each year.

Crowds started a little bit lighter this year, but members of the fair board said they thought attendance would end up about normal.

Umatilla County Commissioner Larry Givens says the fair is a really important outreach tool.

“A huge amount of work goes into ag production in our county and this fair is a representation of a lot of that work and what those families do and what they’re trying to pass onto the next generation.”

Umatilla County is the second largest ag producing county in Oregon.

For the attendees of the fair, there are a lot of things to love with kids loving the carnival, showing their animals, seeing the wide variety of animals and much more.

One of the biggest draws of the fair is the livestock auction on Saturday which nets about $500,000 to help young people in 4-H and FFA which puts it as one of the top two such auctions in the state.
