Tri-Cities Food Bank Awarded $200K To Help Fight Hunger

The St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank in Pasco, WA, recently received a major boost in its fight against hunger.  The Washington State Department of Agriculture awarded the nonprofit a $200,000 Resiliency Grant to help provide nutritious food for families in need.

"From $14 million available statewide for 2026/2027, awards ranged from $10,000 to $200,000," noted Deb Murray, Volunteer Grant Manager.  "We received the maximum award of $200,000.   This ensures our food boxes will continue to be well-balanced and nutritious.  We're grateful for WSDA's support.”

Officials with SVDP said the funding will support purchases of protein, dairy products, and fresh fruits and vegetables.  St. Vincent de Paul serves about 1,700 families every Wednesday at its warehouse in the Tri-Cities.
