According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers tractor sales, nationwide, were up 4% in September, compared to 2024's figures. Last month, dealers sold a total of 17,729 tractors, which compares to 17,033 sold a year earlier.

 

AEM added for the month, two-wheel drive smaller tractors under 40 horsepower sales were up 3% from last year, while sales of tractors between 40-100 horsepower were up 17%.  That was offset by a sharp drop in the sales of larger tractor models.  Combine sales in September were off 22% year-over-year.

 

For the year, AEM said:

  • Tractor sales are down 8%
  • 100+ horsepower tractor sales are down 25%
  • Four-wheel-drive tractors are down 39 percent.

 

Meanwhile, for the year, combine sales are off 40% compared to September 2024.
