As the 2026 growing season comes to a close, the Central Oregon Irrigation District has released its Tentative Fall Shut-off Schedule.

As the District ramps down for the year, river diversions will dip to 75% on September 15th, meaning delivery percentages at headgates will be reduced to approximately 50%.  And then on October 1st, the diversion number will drop to 50%, which means deliveries will be reduced to stock water run levels.  From there, the tentative season shut off dates will be:

  • October 14th for the Central Oregon Canal (East Side of Bend, Alfalfa, & Powell Butte Areas)
  • October 15th for the Pilot Butte Canal (North End of Bend, Redmond, & Terrebonne Areas)

COID wants to remind everyone these shut-off dates are tentative and are based on weather and demand.
