The weather for much of the area during October was beautiful,  with clear skies, some cold evenings, but it looks like that all comes to an end Wednesday.  Meteorologist Dennis Hull said a new system will being in a chance of showers, and perhaps even wet snow.  He told the Washington Ag Network temperatures won’t become extremely cold.

“You know, a lot of clouds around and a lot of moisture around, but we did have fairly cold temperatures earlier this week, we go down into the low to mid 20s.”

Hull said we could see rain totals through the weekend, anywhere from ¼” to ¾”.  He adds soil temperatures have dropped considerably over the past couple of days to the lows 50s and upper 40s.  Hull also pointed out that October’s weather was beneficial to area pastures.

“At the beginning of October, the USDA was rating pastures at less than 20% good to excellent across Oregon and Washington, now that’s raised to over 25% in their latest survey.”

Hull said we could see skies clear up early next week before another system rolls into the area.
