Survey Shows Canadian Farmers Concerned About Tariffs
According to RealAgristudies a majority of Canada's farmers have serious concerns regarding potential U.S. tariffs. They say 59% of respondents in a recent survey expect proposed U.S. tariffs will negatively impact their businesses. Only 7% think there won’t be an effect on their operations. Another 7% aren’t sure what the impact will be.
Farmers who primarily produce livestock are slightly more likely to expect an impact on their business than mixed or primarily crop-focused farmers. There isn’t much difference in how farmers see the potential impact when you compare age, farm size, and geography.
Overall, 88% of the survey respondents say they are very or somewhat concerned about the impact of tariffs on the Canadian economy. Only 3% of the respondents say they aren’t concerned.
Livestock producers tend to see a trade war as more likely than mixed or primarily crop producers. Click Here for more from RealAgristudies.
