One way stakeholders enroll prosperity efforts hope to facilitate economic development is via public and private lender participation and partnership.  Strengthening such collaboration was the focus of a national lender partnership forum held at the agriculture department headquarters in Washington DC earlier this week.

USDA participation included Deputy Secretary Stephen Senske, leaders of various rural development coverage areas, from housing, utilities, and business, and the Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development Anne Hazlett.

"When we think about rural prosperity, our lending partners are truly an essential ingredient in bringing access to capital for these communities' economic opportunity and quality of life."

The assistant to the secretary adds that she sees the forum and future dialogue as, "An important opportunity to bring everyone together and have a conversation about what their needs are and how we can better work together to serve rural America."
