Storm Bringing Winter-Like Conditions To Cascades
Massive storms last week and over the weekend brought heavy rains and snow to the Cascades.
USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey said it’s about that time to think about snow hitting the mountain ranges.
“We have seen some snow already across the Northern Rockies and even across the Northern High Plains and other parts of the West. We are getting to the time of year where the storms come with increasing frequency and intensity.”
Rippey said forecasts show a wetter fall and winter for the Northern U.S.
“If that does play out, that could certainly be a drought easer or reliever across the Northwest, the Northern Rockies areas that have had a pretty hot dry summer.”
None of the mountain snow was expected to stick around with heavy rain washing it away, but the next few days should see more rain and possibilities of snow later in the week.
