After nearly 50 years at the helm, Greg Stewart has announced he’s retiring from the Central Washington State Fair at the end of the year.  Stewart currently the General Manager and Fair Board President made the announcement earlier this month.  He told the Yakima Herald-Republic that it’s been a “fun ride”.

Stewart was hired as the Fair’s assistant manager in 1972, and saw the expansion not only of the fairgrounds, but also the Fair from a five-day celebration to a nearly week-and-a-half long event.  In 2018 he was given the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Washington State Fairy Association.
