Stemilt Growers and the Mathison family received one of the three 2017 Civil Rights and Social Justice Awards from the City of Wenatchee and its Diversity Advisory Council.

Stemilt was honored for their dedication to improving the lives of children, families, migrant workers, the homeless, and other underserved groups in North Central Washington.

President and CEO West Mathison said they were honored to receive the award noting their, “company mission focuses on cultivating people, and these programs that were recognized are a step towards doing that.”

Stemilt offers free, on-site English classes, donated $150,000 last year to the Lighthouse Christian Ministries for a new soup kitchen, and they offer a free on-site medical clinic for its employees.
