So far, in most areas of the country, growers of spring wheat are seeing just a really good crop coming along.  Agriculture Department meteorologist Brad Rippey tells us it's a phenomenal crop so far.
"And despite a couple of hot days during the week, the crop actually improved in condition," Rippey said.  "It's now 80% good to excellent, up three points from a week ago. Just 4% very poor to poor, down a point from last week."
While the condition of the crop is improving, it's also rapidly developing.
"Mostly headed out, 81% on July 8th, well ahead of the 5-year average of 69%," Rippey noted.
Meanwhile, farmer's are 63% done with the harvest of winter wheat, just a little ahead of the average.
