One of the biggest things the U.S. can do to help American farmers according to Numerica’s Dennis Janikowski, is improve the infrastructure.  He noted while the U.S has a long history of building good roads and putting the needed infrastructure, into place, that work and much of the needed maintenance has been lacking.

“With the rising costs of just labor and everything else, that all impacts every little thing and wear and tear on vehicles.”

Janikowski said not only do old, rough roads wear on vehicles, but so does traveling extra miles because needed roadways are not in the best location.  In 2018, the American Society of Structural Engineers, gave the U.S. transportation infrastructure a D+.
