The Roza Irrigation district is set to open a new reservoir this summer.  District Manager Scott Revell told the Washington Ag Network the Reregulation Reservoir north of Sunnyside is a project 40 years in the making, with construction running the last two years.  He said while a date has not been set, they plan to fill the Reservoir in late July.

“If you were to drive out there and take a look at it, you’d see a large spill way, the reservoir is nearly complete the pump station vault is being built.  It’s a $31 million project, so it’s pretty significant irrigation investment, it’s a good partnership between the state and federal government and the local district.”

Revell says Reregulation will leave roughly 8,000 acre feet of water in the river to help local fish.
