WSU researchers have found just 97 potato psyllids so far this season which is dramatically down from the 19,000 through this time last year.

The numbers so far have been the lowest number of psyllids in the state of Washington for at least the past five years.

Potato Tuberworms were also found on 14 of 55 fields in the Columbia Basin. Aphid numbers are on the rise and were found in 85 percent of fields in the Basin.

The good news is that Beet Leafhoppers are trending downward and were found on just 40 percent of fields.
