Plant Pest Diagnostic Roundup Released

WSU’s Plant Pest Diagnostic Clinic released the results of their year-long look at maladies in grains and pulse crops.

The clinic says they got 57 samples been November of last year and this year with a wide variety of problems.

The most common problems were root rot and pink snow mold in the plants with some soils also showing a Pythium that was resistant to Metalaxyl.

There were also several environmental problems that the clinic came across due to cold weather, nutrient disorders and more.

The clinic is open year round and can take in samples from professional farmers, or private homeowner plant samples.
