Six Phillipine milling executives were shown around the Northwest and got the opportunity to see the supply chain of wheat produced in our area.

The Phillipines are the third largest buyer of U.S. wheat reaching 103 million bushels in the 2016/17 marketing year.

Washington Grain Commission Vice President Mary Palmer Sullivan said with Phillipines being the top importer of the state’s soft white wheat, this was an opportunity to share their appreciation.

The delegation visited Spokane, Ritzville, Pasco and Portland including stops to learn more about the transportation system.
