Despite harsh words from President Trump about the NAFTA negotiations with Canada and Mexico, the U-S Ag Secretary is optimistic about the outcome.  President Trump said the deal is unfair to U-S car manufactures other manufactures of U.S. goods.

"I happen to be in the opinion that if it doesn't work out then we will terminate it," said Trump.

"He has become aware of the beneficial aspects of NAFTA in the agriculture community," said Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue.

Perdue added while the President has demanded changes which so far have been rejected by Canada and Mexico, he believes Trump is a tough negotiator.

"I'm convinced that with his style of negotiating and with Bob Lighthizer there, I'm more encouraged now about a positive arrangement on NAFTA since I see I think Mexico is beginning to realize that the President is serious, I think Canada will realize that the President is serious."

All three countries will wrap up NAFTA negotiations Monday after meeting for the sixth time with little progress made on any divisive issues.
