Pear Bureau NW Celebrating #WhatsInYourFruitBowl Month
What’s in your fruit bowl?
That’s the question being asked throughout the month of March. Kathy Stephenson with Pear Bureau Northwest says this is the third year they’ve held the #WhatsInYourFruitBowl social media effort.
“We’ve put some more information behind it to talk about the reasons why having a well-stocked fruit bowl is good for your family. So, the research we’re sharing talks about the habits that can be built with a family having a nice, well-stocked fruit bowl and how Americans are eating fewer and fewer fruits and vegetables, and that’s just something we need, as a produce community, to change.”
And it’s not just Pear Bureau Northwest that will be active this
month.
“So, this effort is to work with a few other fresh fruit producers like the National Mango Board, California Avocados, we’re working with Harry & David, and all of these folks are chipping in to try and spread this word. It’s mostly a social media effort, but we also are working with some supermarket dietitians at a couple major retailers across the country.”
