With the statewide snowpack hovering around 80% for this time of year and temperatures warming up, some are concerned available water could be a bit tight this year.  Scott Pattee with NRCS says while it’s too early to know if rationing will take place, conservation will be key again this year for growers and producers.

“We’re going to see those stream flows coming off, especially the long term stream flows through the summer are going to be down there, to considerably below normal.  We need to try to conserve everything that we can, ad share the wealth, if you will, for all the different uses.”

While a few of the higher elevations may receive snow this month, Pattee says snowpacks will not grow much in the coming weeks.
