As one of the states of the Pacific Northwest, Oregon offers a wide variety of agricultural products - over 225 commodities, including livestock, seafood, grains, fruits, and vegetables.

The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) has recently released an updated list of its top 20 agricultural commodities, based on 2022 data from USDA NASS, ODA, ODFW, Oregon Wine Board, and other Oregon industries.

The nursery and greenhouse sector continues to lead the way with over $1 billion in value, while cattle and calves remained in its second position. Both have been a constant leader in Oregon's most valuable commodities.

Many other commodities have shifted on the list, and overall values have increased since the last data compilation.

In addition to the top 20 listed below, ODA notes that Oregon is the first in the nation for the production of these commodities:

  • hazelnuts
  • Christmas trees
  • rhubarb
  • crimson clover seed
  • orchard grass seed
  • fescue seed
  • ryegrass seed
  • red clover seed
  • sugar beet for seed
  • white clover seed
